Instant Urbanism / Den midlertidige by

This research project is established in 2008 as part of the project Performative Urban Design (Hans Kiib) and continued in 2009 as part of the project Experience City.DK (Gitte Marling, Hans Kiib and Ole B Jensen).

In March 2013 a research cluster is established at Aalborg University. It include 14 researchers from the Department of Architecture and Media Technology and Department of Civil Engineering.

Instant Urbanism Research Cluster conduct research in the following fields:

- Art installations and instant architecture : Urban intervention, relational art, Curatering, Empowerment, Aesthetics of urban art and temporal installations, Temporal structures as architectural drivers. - Mediated Urbanism :  Wearable, Pervasive urban art, Urban Media Spaces, application development, - Temporality in Strategic Urban Development : Cultural Planning,  Incubator environments, Master planning for temporal use.

Within the cluster a range of different projects are conducted including 5 Ph.D.-projects.
